I have a guilty pleasure,I really like Rococo painters, and Francois Boucher is pretty much the face of the era. I went to the Getty Museum yesterday, and it reminded me how much I like his stuff. It is SO CARTOONY! His faces are so stylized for appeal and simplicity. It is clear that the Disney artists looked at his stuff a lot when they were working out how to make their more human characters in the 30s.
